Operational Excellence Manager

About the role

Alcon’s Manufacturing function is seeking an Operational Excellence Manager to lead cross‑functional process improvement initiatives at its Irvine, CA facility. The role focuses on eliminating waste, enhancing customer satisfaction, and growing market share through Lean and data‑driven methodologies.

Key responsibilities

• Drive cross‑functional Lean improvement programs to reduce waste and increase market share.
• Apply analytics to identify opportunities, guide decisions, and deliver measurable results.
• Own and track annual objectives for the Continuous Improvement Program (CIP).
• Identify and select candidates for Green Belt and Black Belt training; mentor Green Belts through certification projects.
• Participate in major Lean events to achieve cost reductions.
• Provide strategic expertise and direction for process improvement across all organizational levels.
• Lead and develop a small team of data analysts, fostering critical thinking and a data‑driven mindset.
• Translate analytical insights into actionable business recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with GxP regulations and standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, including Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Data‑driven decision‑making ability with solid analytical skills.
• Leadership experience managing or mentoring a team of analysts.
• Knowledge of GxP regulatory requirements.
