Operational Excellence Engineer

About the role

Join a leading healthcare company dedicated to early cancer detection. As an Operational Excellence Engineer you will work on‑site in Durham, NC, driving data‑focused continuous improvement across laboratory and operational workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Support generation and automation of KPI reporting, ensure data integrity, and collaborate with stakeholders to refine metrics.
• Perform data exploration, statistical analysis and apply SPC/QC methods to monitor and improve process stability.
• Execute Lean initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen events and Six Sigma projects, partnering with operations teams to pilot, measure and scale improvements.
• Capture and document operational issues, risks and improvement opportunities, and help prioritize efforts with cross‑functional teams.
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Software and Product teams to implement process enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in process engineering, operations or continuous improvement, preferably in biotech, diagnostics or manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies (certification a plus).
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control and Quality Control tools.
