Operating Systems Security Engineer – Platform

About the role

Anthropic is seeking an Operating Systems Security Engineer to harden the OS layer of its AI infrastructure. In this hands‑on position you will design and implement kernel‑level security controls that protect large‑scale model training environments while preserving performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy hardened OS configurations for AI workloads across multiple hardware platforms.
• Reduce attack surface by stripping unnecessary kernel and user‑space components.
• Develop and maintain SELinux, AppArmor, and custom Linux Security Modules policies.
• Implement full‑disk encryption and secure boot processes.
• Create OS‑level attestation, integrity monitoring, and secure update mechanisms.
• Apply security patches and develop patches for custom kernel modules.
• Collaborate with container teams to ensure kernel‑level workload isolation.
• Build tooling for security configuration management and compliance verification.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of Linux internals, kernel subsystems and security frameworks (SELinux, AppArmor, seccomp).
• Experience with kernel hardening, exploit mitigation and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong systems programming skills in C and familiarity with eBPF for monitoring.
• Understanding of virtualization and container security.
• Track record of identifying and fixing OS‑level security issues.
