Operating Engineer (HV Shop)

About the role

Amentum is hiring an Operating Engineer (HV Shop) for its Springfield, VA location. The licensed operator runs and maintains one or more systems that provide heat, air-conditioning, refrigeration, steam, high-temperature water or electricity to an establishment covered by the CUP.

Key responsibilities

• Read gauges, meters and charts to monitor system performance and meet demand for the service provided.
• Keep logs of system operation and keep engines, machinery and equipment in good working order.
• Direct and coordinate other workers who operate and maintain the system.
• Perform other duties associated with the position as appropriate.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Ability to lift 45 lbs.
• Minimum knowledge: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Stationary engineer license: MD level 1 or DC level 3.

Required skills

• Skilled in repairing electronic control equipment used in power, steam and air-conditioning systems.
• Reading gauges, meters and charts and keeping operational logs.

The schedule is on site five days per week, eight hours per day. The listed pay is $49.12.
