Online Program Instructor – Industrial Engineering

About the role

Louisiana State University’s Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering seeks a part‑time Online Program Instructor to teach graduate‑level Industrial Engineering courses. The position supports LSU’s online education initiative and contributes to the department’s mission of delivering high‑quality engineering education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver graduate Industrial Engineering lectures and labs in an online format, following LSU Online standards.
• Develop and maintain course materials, assignments, assessments, and instructional content within the university’s learning management system.
• Assess student performance, record grades, and provide timely feedback.
• Facilitate student engagement through virtual office hours, discussion forums, and clear communication.
• Collaborate with faculty and program leadership on curriculum development, continuous improvement, and accreditation activities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in an engineering discipline.
• Significant professional experience in Industrial Engineering, preferably 10 years or more.
• Expertise in areas such as systems engineering, supply chain and logistics, ergonomics, analytics, and operations research.
• Demonstrated ability to teach at the graduate level, preferably in an online environment.
