On-Call IT Field Technician – Flexible 1099 Role

About the role

Geeks On Site delivers nationwide computer repair and technology support for homes and small businesses. We are looking for experienced field technicians to provide on‑site IT services, including computer troubleshooting, networking, printer setup, POS installation, and outdoor TV mounting.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS issues on‑site.
• Resolve Wi‑Fi, router, and wired network problems.
• Install and configure printers, scanners, and POS systems.
• Replace or upgrade hardware components and reinstall operating systems using bootable tools.
• Run Cat5e or Cat6 cabling and perform basic AV setup.
• Mount outdoor TVs and perform related installations.
• Document work and communicate clearly with customers.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of IT support or field service experience.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and travel within a defined radius.
• Own essential tools (laptop, drill, screwdrivers, cable tester, RJ45 tools).
