On-Call IT Field Technician – Flexible 1099 Role

About the role

Geeks On Site is seeking experienced IT Field Technicians to provide on‑call, on‑site support for residential and small‑business customers across multiple U.S. cities. This 1099 independent‑contractor position offers full flexibility: you set your own availability, driving radius, and accept jobs that fit your schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS computers.
• Resolve Wi‑Fi, router, and wired network issues.
• Install and configure printers, scanners, and POS systems.
• Replace or upgrade hardware components and reinstall operating systems.
• Run Cat5e or Cat6 cabling and perform basic AV setup.
• Mount outdoor TVs and handle related cabling.
• Document work and communicate clearly with customers.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of IT support or field‑service experience.
• Strong networking and diagnostic abilities.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and provide professional customer service.
• Physical capacity to lift up to 50 lb and perform installations.
