Oil and Tire Changer - Budget Truck (Full-Time)

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring an Oil and Tire Changer for its Budget Truck operation in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role suits people who enjoy hands-on automotive work on box trucks and cargo vans and want to build skills on a fleet of newer vehicles across several brands. Pay is $16.00 per hour, with shift premium possibly applying.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and light repair on the fleet of box trucks and cargo vans
• Carry out oil and fluid services, tire repairs and tire rotations
• Complete all work safely and with a focus on quality
• Depending on experience, help more experienced technicians with additional repairs and diagnostics
• May be asked to drive a Budget Truck on public roads for testing or operational needs

Required profile

• Valid driver's license (Class A, B or C)
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or prior auto maintenance experience
• Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently; must obtain DOT medical clearance
• At least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Regular on-site presence; the position cannot be done remotely
• 6 months of auto maintenance experience or completion of an automotive technical school program is a bonus
