About the role
The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at LSU is looking for an Office Support Coordinator to manage day‑to‑day operations of its Speech, Language, Hearing Clinic. The role serves as the first point of contact for clients, faculty, students and external partners, ensuring smooth administrative flow in a health‑focused environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Clinic Director with the preparation of reports for departmental, college, university and external accreditation bodies.
- Maintain signature authority for routine office matters in the Director’s absence.
- Oversee clinic office procedures, including confidential file handling, HIPAA‑compliant material check‑in/out, and parking coordination.
- Manage active and inactive client files and respond to legal document requests.
- Maintain client records, schedule therapy and diagnostic appointments, and handle phone inquiries with a 24‑hour response target.
- Coordinate parking permits and provide directions for clients, visitors and research participants.
Required profile
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with the public, faculty, students and clients with speech, language or hearing disorders.
- Ability to handle confidential information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Organizational aptitude to manage multiple scheduling and reporting tasks.
