About the role

The Nurse Residency at AdventHealth Hendersonville provides newly licensed registered nurses with a structured, supportive environment to develop clinical expertise and deliver high‑quality patient care on a night shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of diagnoses, procedures, medications, and equipment specific to the unit’s patient population.
• Adhere to regulatory standards, infection‑prevention protocols, and medication‑safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and participate in practice changes and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Perform comprehensive assessments—including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors—and identify signs of abuse or neglect.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, set measurable goals, and adjust interventions based on ongoing evaluations.
• Interpret diagnostic data, lab results, and monitoring information to guide patient care.
• Promote an exceptional patient experience through hourly rounding and clear communication with patients, families, and visitors.

Required profile

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN licensure.
• Associate’s degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred).
