Nurse Representative – Western Washington

About the role

The Nurse Representative will act as the voice of WSNA and its members in the Labor Executive Council program, handling negotiations, grievance resolution, and member support across Western Washington.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with labor counsel to develop negotiation proposals and prepare local unit negotiating teams.
• Investigate and process grievances, providing guidance on contracts and practice issues.
• Meet with employer representatives, visit hospitals and clinical settings, and report to the Director of Labor.
• Develop and deliver training programs for local unit leaders and members.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of state and national laws affecting nurse representation.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a registered nurse in Washington State.
• Experience with WSNA or another local unit and familiarity with labor‑relations trends in health care.
• Strong interpersonal, conflict‑management and communication abilities.
• Capacity to handle multiple priorities, organize workload and take initiative.
