Nurse Representative – Southwest Washington

About the role

The Washington State Nurses Association seeks a Nurse Representative to serve nurses across Southwest Washington. Reporting to the Director of Labor, this full‑time position works within the Labor Executive Council program to advocate for members and support collective bargaining activities.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with labor counsel to develop negotiation proposals and prepare the local unit negotiating team.
• Assist in arbitration preparation and grievance investigation and processing.
• Serve as a resource on WSNA contracts, practice issues, and state/national regulations.
• Develop and deliver training programs for local unit leaders and members.
• Maintain databases supporting LEC activities and provide information for WSNA publications.
• Meet with employer representatives and visit clinical settings to assess work conditions.

Required profile

• Active registered nurse licensure in Washington State.
• Experience with WSNA or another local nursing unit is preferred.
• Knowledge of labor‑relations trends in health care and ability to work with volunteers.
• Strong interpersonal, conflict‑management, and multi‑tasking abilities; flexible travel schedule and valid driver’s license.
