Nurse Practitioner Exempt

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Nurse Practitioner Exempt in Orlando, Florida, to provide comprehensive primary, acute and extended care within the scope of practice and the Collaborative Practice Agreement. The role coordinates patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, delivers patient education and takes part in quality improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments, including physical exams, patient histories and interpretation of diagnostic tests
• Initiate orders for medications, lab studies, diagnostic tests and treatments within scope of practice
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, and develop individualized plans of care
• Provide patient and family education, counseling and support
• Coordinate care with physicians and teams, and help with discharge planning
• Take part in rounds, case conferences and care planning
• Document care accurately and respond to urgent or emergent needs, including on-call duties
• Participate in quality improvement and use evidence-based practice

Required profile

• Master's of Nursing degree
• 1+ year of related work experience
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license (additional licensure may depend on unit or state)
• Preferred: Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
