Nurse Development & Transition to Practice (TPP) Student Role

About the role

The Nursing Development & Transition to Practice (TPP) program at Kingman Healthcare provides nursing students with hands‑on clinical experience under RN supervision. The role supports KHI’s vision of delivering high‑quality, compassionate care while allowing students to develop essential patient‑care skills.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, collect clinical data, monitor status, and obtain specimens under direct RN supervision.
• Collaborate with the supervising RN to develop care plans, deliver interventions, and provide patient education.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, mobility, and therapeutic interventions.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record and report changes in patient condition promptly.
• Participate in professional development workshops and career‑planning activities appropriate to each semester level.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; current enrollment in an accredited RN program.
• Proof of progression through nursing school semesters as outlined for Levels I‑IV.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Ability to lift 50‑70 lb, walk up to 3 miles per shift, and perform physical tasks required in a clinical setting.

Required skills

• Vital sign monitoring and point‑of‑care testing.
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
