Nuclear Engineer – Core Physics

About the role

Radiant Industries is developing portable nuclear micro‑reactors and seeks a Nuclear Engineer specializing in Core Physics to design and implement testing for its 2026 demonstration reactor, Kaleidos. You will lead the test campaign design, ensure safety, and verify that tests meet performance objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Gather testing requirements, objectives and success criteria from nuclear engineers.
• Develop and document test procedures that operate within Kaleidos’s safety and performance limits.
• Perform reactor physics calculations, including neutronic and transient analyses, to validate test sequences.
• Support operator training, control‑room GUI development and procedural documentation.
• Collaborate with systems and operations engineers to define test success criteria.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering or a related accredited field.
• At least 2 years of experience with reactor operations.
• Knowledge of radiation transport methods and thermal‑hydraulic fundamentals.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends and to be onsite full‑time.

Required skills

• Experience with radiation transport codes such as MCNP, OpenMC or Serpent.
• Proficiency in reactor physics calculations, neutronic and transient analysis.
• Understanding of thermal hydraulics.
