NPI MPM III – Materials Planning & Sourcing Lead

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an NPI MPM III to lead forecasting, material planning, and sourcing activities for new product introductions. The role partners with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure timely delivery of critical components while minimizing inventory exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers and perform make‑versus‑buy analysis.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP, manage material change control, and execute commercialization transition plans.
• Assist in supplier price and delivery negotiations, conduct risk assessments, and monitor supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery.
• Generate and publish key process indicators, track landed cost targets, and support value analysis for cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve supplier quality issues and escalate when necessary.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in materials planning, sourcing, and supply chain processes with a solid understanding of related disciplines.
• Knowledge of best practices, competitive landscape, and ability to integrate functional areas.
• Leadership ability to mentor less‑experienced colleagues and lead small, low‑risk projects.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of analyzing complex information and making sound judgments.
• Effective communication and consensus‑building skills across cross‑functional teams.
