NPI Materials Project Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an NPI Materials Project Manager to lead the planning, sourcing, and commercialization of new product materials. You will work closely with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery of critical components for semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis and provide input to outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Lead the Materials Core Team, managing product development deliverables across buyers, planners, and production control.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, delivery terms, and contracts while monitoring performance.
• Manage materials change‑control, cost objectives, and quality issue resolution.
• Generate and publish key process indicators and track total landed cost targets.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in materials sourcing, supplier risk assessment, and cost analysis.
• Strong business knowledge of best practices, market competition, and cross‑functional integration.
• Leadership ability to mentor less‑experienced colleagues and lead small projects.
• Proven problem‑solving skills with the capacity to evaluate multiple information sources.
• Effective interpersonal communication to explain complex information and build consensus.
