About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced NPI Materials Project Manager to lead material sourcing and supply‑chain activities for new product introductions. The role combines strategic sourcing, cost analysis, and cross‑functional coordination to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery of critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers; perform make‑versus‑buy analyses.
• Lead the Materials Core Team, coordinating product development deliverables through matrix management of buyers, planners, and production control.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, delivery terms, and contracts; conduct risk assessments and monitor supplier performance.
• Develop and maintain new‑part lead times, drive dual‑sourcing, and implement lead‑time mitigation strategies.
• Generate and publish key process indicators, track total landed‑cost targets, and support cost‑apportionment models.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply‑chain management, engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of NPI sourcing project‑management experience in a manufacturing or technology‑driven environment.
• Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
