NPI Buyer II – Procurement Role

About the role

As an NPI Buyer II you will purchase materials, supplies, machinery and services for Applied Materials’ state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure supply continuity, manage inventory and drive timely delivery of critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain supply continuity by following up on orders, verifying deliveries and approving payments.
• Drive timely shipment of parts from suppliers to Applied factories, resolving any receiving or billing issues.
• Partner with suppliers on demand‑supply collaboration and execute pull‑ins/push‑outs to meet MRP demand.
• Support inventory and excess‑and‑obsolescence reduction initiatives.
• Negotiate purchases and RFQs to achieve lowest cost while considering quality and reliability.
• Resolve supply problems with engineering, manufacturing and program managers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1–2 years of related procurement or supply‑chain experience.
• Understanding of key industry business drivers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex information.

What we offer

Salary range $64,000 – $88,000 per year, based on experience and internal equity. The role is located in Austin, TX and provides a supportive work culture that encourages learning, development and career growth.
