Non-Armed Hospital Security Officer (Full-Time)

About the role

We are seeking a non‑armed Security Officer to join the security team at a leading women’s and infants’ hospital in Baton Rouge. The role involves monitoring security systems, managing visitor access, and supporting fire‑protection and infant‑security programs across the main hospital and the adjacent Physician’s Office Building.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily hospital security operations and respond to incidents.
• Monitor security cameras, dispatch communications, and visitor‑control technology.
• Investigate and evaluate reported security situations following hospital protocols.
• Maintain knowledge of building layouts, access routes, and departmental requirements.
• Operate control panels, alarms, and related equipment to ensure continuous surveillance.
• Collaborate with hospital management to identify and address location‑specific security needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Security Manager or Emergency Management Director.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• Five years of experience in military, law‑enforcement, or security (preferred).
• Active POST (Peace Officer Standards & Training) certification (preferred).
• Strong written communication skills for accurate record‑keeping.
