NOC Lead Engineer – Enterprise Network & Security Operations

About the role

We are seeking a senior NOC Lead Engineer to own day‑to‑day network operations for a complex enterprise environment. The role blends hands‑on troubleshooting, architectural guidance, and team leadership, supporting security, routing, switching, wireless, SD‑WAN, data‑center, cloud networking, and load balancing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily NOC activities and provide technical direction to L1/L2 engineers.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex network incidents.
• Manage response to alerts, hardware failures, performance degradations, and service outages.
• Coordinate P1/P2 bridge calls, drive troubleshooting, and communicate status.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
• Improve monitoring, incident response, documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, cloud, and application teams to enhance reliability.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in network operations, NOC leadership, or senior network engineering.
• Proven ability to mentor and guide L1/L2 engineers.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, VPNs, and performance issues.
• Experience leading incident response and coordinating technical teams during high‑priority outages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to produce clear documentation and SOPs.
• Willingness to work on‑site three days per week in Grand Rapids, MI.
