About the role
Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering, is seeking a New Product Manufacturing Engineer to support the transition of new semiconductor and advanced display products from development to high‑volume manufacturing. The role focuses on creating and validating manufacturing strategies, BOM structures, and test readiness for moderately complex assemblies.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and release new product BOMs for moderately complex assemblies under management supervision.
- Create and validate Operation Method Sheets (OMS) for these assemblies.
- Partner with senior NPMEs on 3D solid‑model virtual analysis, Master Layout (MLO) and Digital Mock Up (DMU) processes.
- Participate in design reviews, providing DFA, DFAe, DFTp, ITO, and efficiency feedback to drive cost, quality, and cycle‑time goals.
- Manage change requests, including NSRs, ECOs, CCB, SPSs, and ESWs.
- Lead the Managed Build process for assemblies/modules and provide technical support and training to manufacturing resources.
Required profile
- BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 2‑4 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Ability to work in a clean‑room environment and use appropriate PPE.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work in noisy or tight spaces.
Required skills
- BOM development and management.
- 3D solid‑model virtual analysis (MLO, DMU).
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM/DFX) techniques.
- Creation of Operation Method Sheets (OMS).
