New Graduate RN Residency Program

About the role

The New‑Graduate Registered Nurse Residency Program is a full‑time, one‑year paid employment opportunity designed to support recent nursing graduates as they transition into clinical practice at Cedars‑Sinai.

Key responsibilities

• Complete 13 didactic and interactive workshops throughout the year.
• Participate in an eight‑week (24‑shift) precepted clinical orientation on an assigned unit.
• Attend a week of general hospital introduction, new employee orientation, and EMR training.
• After orientation, assume a permanent assignment on the nursing unit while continuing workshops and support rounds.

Required profile

• Current, active California RN license before the application date.
• Less than nine months paid RN experience at the time of application.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA in nursing coursework.
• ADN degree from an accredited U.S. program completed within the past 12 months.
• Current BLS and, if required by the unit, ACLS or PALS certification.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as required.
• Ability to use electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
