New Graduate Registered Nurse (RN) – Cohort Starting Aug 24, 2026

About the role

PIH Health Downey Hospital is seeking enthusiastic new graduate Registered Nurses to join a structured residency cohort beginning August 24, 2026. You will deliver direct patient care while learning under the guidance of an experienced preceptor.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, provide education, and evaluate outcomes.
• Deliver nursing care under preceptor supervision during the orientation period.
• Coordinate care delivery with multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient flow.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Completed an accredited nursing program within the past 12 months.
• Current California RN license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• ADN, BSN, or MSN qualification.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency.
• Written and verbal communication.
• Interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Patient assessment and family teaching.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
