Network Security Engineer – WW Operations & Robotics

About the role

Amazon’s WW Operations & Robotics team is seeking a Network Security Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operation of security‑focused infrastructure across its global fulfillment and transportation networks. You will shape security choices for robotics, automation, and embedded devices while ensuring the reliability and trust of Amazon’s massive infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Own network security decisions for solutions spanning robotics, automation, and embedded devices.
• Integrate security into everyday tools by interpreting authentication protocols and core network security principles.
• Implement and maintain security measures, perform design reviews, and conduct risk assessments for Amazon’s systems and networks.
• Develop and manage a security risk register, partnering with risk owners to remediate identified issues.
• Simplify ACLs to clear network backlogs for new and existing solutions.
• Collect, evaluate, and summarize data to produce clear written and verbal communications.
• Operate the security posture of the world’s largest fulfillment network and mentor network support teams.
• Drive root‑cause resolution of high‑impact network events.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead technical thought‑leadership in network security.
• Comfort with taking calculated risks and iterating on designs that may initially fail.
• Strong influence and communication skills to guide teams through ambiguity.
• Experience designing, building, deploying, and operating security‑focused infrastructure at scale.
• Passion for mentoring and reinforcing security best practices across support teams.
