Network Security Engineer – Mid Level (CheckPoint to Fortinet)

About the role

We are seeking a Mid‑level Network Security Engineer to lead migration projects from on‑premise CheckPoint firewalls to Fortinet Cloud solutions on Azure. The role involves the full service lifecycle, from assessment and design through deployment, optimization, and support.

Key responsibilities

• Execute migration projects using FortiMigrator and manual conversion of CheckPoint policies to Fortinet (FortiGate/FortiCloud).
• Validate functional integrity and performance after migration.
• Deploy Fortinet virtual appliances in Azure, designing secure landing zones, hubs, and spokes.
• Configure firewall rules, NAT, VPN (IPSec/SSL) and segmentation policies.
• Perform security hardening and produce technical documentation for operations handover.
• Troubleshoot network and security incidents and tune platforms for optimal performance.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in network security and firewall administration.
• Proven track record in firewall platform migration projects.
• Experience participating in Azure cloud projects.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications such as Fortinet NSE, Azure AZ‑104/AZ‑500, or CheckPoint CCSA/CCSE.

• Routing and switching fundamentals.
• VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL).
• NAT and network segmentation.
• Azure IaaS networking and virtual firewall deployment.

• Familiarity with other vendors such as Palo Alto and Cisco (optional).
