Network Security Engineer

About the role

ExxonMobil is seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, engineer, and manage the enterprise network security posture across its global operations. You will ensure that network infrastructure complies with corporate security policies and protects against evolving cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage network security technologies and services in data centers, offices, and edge locations.
• Research and recommend industry best practices and emerging network security technologies.
• Operate and maintain security appliances (Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper), including upgrades and patching.
• Build and automate network security infrastructure using DevOps practices.
• Support security operations: monitoring, analysis, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Evaluate security advisories and provide timely mitigation recommendations.
• Participate in ad‑hoc vulnerability assessments and incident response activities.
• Coordinate with Cybersecurity, Projects, and internal stakeholder teams.
• Develop and maintain operational processes and documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in network security.
• Experience with Cisco ASA (CSM), FTD (FMC), FortiGate (FortiManager), Juniper SRX (Junos Space).
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing/switching, and ACLs.
• Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, encryption, authentication, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
