Network Installation Technician III

About the role

PEAKE is seeking experienced Network Installation Technicians to support a 10‑month Department of War (DoW) contract in Norfolk. The role focuses on installing, terminating, and testing structured copper and fiber cabling for enterprise‑level networks.

Key responsibilities

• Install CAT6 and fiber‑optic structured cabling systems, including pulling, fire‑stopping, dressing, and labeling.
• Terminate Ethernet and fiber connectors, perform single‑mode and multi‑mode fiber testing using OTDR and Fluke equipment.
• Conduct fiber characterization testing and troubleshoot fiber optic issues.
• Install and configure closet hardware such as backboards, patch panels, racks, and fiber enclosures.
• Follow DISA installation procedures for NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, and Centrix networks.
• Attend safety trainings and adhere to all safety policies.

Required profile

• Active DoW Secret clearance (or higher).
• 5+ years of cabling, construction trades, or related experience.
• Proven experience as a fiber‑optic specialist; BICSI Installer/Technician certification a plus.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb, climb, and work in confined spaces.
• Prior team‑lead experience is preferred.
