Net Zero Specialist

About the role

The Prairie Island Indian Community (PIIC) is looking for a motivated Net Zero Specialist to help drive its clean‑energy and sustainability agenda. Reporting to the Net Zero Program Manager, you will work across teams to design and implement strategies that move the community toward net‑zero carbon emissions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring milestones, timelines, and resources align with strategic goals.
• Identify grant and funding opportunities, write proposals, and oversee post‑award compliance and reporting.
• Design procurement processes that support net‑zero objectives, prepare RFPs/quotes, and evaluate suppliers.
• Create reports, presentations, and training materials to communicate progress to leadership, stakeholders, and the wider community.
• Collect, analyze, and visualize energy and decarbonization data, providing actionable insights to non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in project management, grant writing, or procurement within clean‑energy or sustainability projects.
• Strong analytical abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and engage community stakeholders.
