Naval Architect Manager

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Naval Architect Manager to lead the design, analysis, and development of autonomous surface vessels. This senior position combines traditional naval architecture with cutting‑edge autonomous technologies to support defense and maritime innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and structural analysis of hull forms, arrangements, and mechanical systems for autonomous surface vessels (ASVs).
• Coordinate CAD modeling, structural design, component integration, and weight management across engineering teams.
• Integrate autonomous navigation and control systems into vessel designs and oversee design reviews.
• Research emerging trends in naval architecture, autonomy, and defense requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and client presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality and accuracy of all naval architecture work.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong fundamentals in ship design, stability, structures, propulsion, and hydrodynamics.
• Experience leading and managing engineering teams.
• Physical ability to access shipyards, lift up to 25 lb, and travel to domestic or international sites as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software such as Rhino, AutoCAD, and Siemens NX.
• Experience using simulation tools like Orca3D, Star CCM+, and GHS.
