National Consultant – Infrastructure Asset Management (Micronesia)

About the role

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) is seeking a National Consultant to support Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) activities in the Federated States of Micronesia. This remote, 11‑month assignment will contribute to Phase 2 of the project “Localizing the SDGs through more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable infrastructure.”

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored technical assistance to strengthen IAM practices and policy frameworks in Micronesia.
• Develop and integrate Asset Management Action Plans (AMAPs) into local development plans.
• Design and deliver training programmes for public officials on IAM concepts and tools.
• Contribute to the new edition of the United Nations Handbook on Infrastructure Asset Management, including case studies and tools.
• Coordinate with government officials, stakeholders, and FSDO staff to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Support regional peer‑learning and South‑South cooperation initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in infrastructure asset management or related fields.
• Understanding of sustainable development goals and resilient infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and deliver results within an 11‑month timeframe.
• Familiarity with UN development processes and capacity‑building activities.
