NA Product Manager for Superabsorbent Polymers

About the role

The North America Product Manager for Superabsorbent Polymers will join BASF’s Petrochemicals team in Houston. This role focuses on pricing, margin management and the financial performance of the superabsorbent polymer portfolio across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain product pricing strategies to achieve margin targets.
• Prepare and analyse monthly P&L, cost centre results and provide commentary for business decisions.
• Generate financial and demand forecasts, supporting operational and supply‑chain planning.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, supply chain, marketing, controlling and technical service teams to align on business objectives.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support North and South America marketing and sales teams with portfolio evaluations, market intelligence and project delivery.
• Work with global product management and key accounts to steer pricing and margin across regions.

Required profile

• Experience in product management, pricing or margin control within a petrochemical or chemical environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret financial data and market dynamics.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with manufacturing, sales, supply chain and R&D teams.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting results and influencing stakeholders.
