MOT Superintendent – Traffic Control Leader

About the role

The Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Superintendent will lead the planning, coordination and execution of all Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) operations for the SR400 Express Lanes Project in Georgia. Working closely with the MOT Manager, construction teams, subcontractors and state agencies, you will ensure safe, compliant traffic control that supports uninterrupted project progress.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise MOT field crews in installing, maintaining and removing traffic control devices such as signs, barrels, barricades and message boards.
• Execute approved Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) and verify that field setups meet GDOT standards and MUTCD requirements.
• Coordinate daily lane closures, rolling closures, detours and traffic shifts with construction teams and the MOT Manager.
• Conduct daily field inspections to confirm proper device placement, visibility and functionality.
• Respond promptly to emergency traffic control needs, incidents and real‑time plan adjustments.
• Ensure all MOT activities comply with applicable regulations and safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading MOT field crews on large‑scale transportation infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with construction teams, subcontractors and state agencies.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills for real‑time traffic control adjustments.
