Mortgage Underwriting Trainer

About the role

We are looking for a Mortgage Underwriting Trainer to design, implement and manage training programs that develop our underwriting team. The role combines deep mortgage underwriting knowledge with proven instructional design and adult‑learning techniques to ensure compliance and high‑quality loan assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver curriculum for NQM, FHA, VA and conventional loan underwriting.
• Create assessments and learning activities that measure knowledge retention and practical application.
• Manage training projects from concept through execution, including scheduling and resource allocation.
• Utilise LMS platforms and e‑learning tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) to deliver blended learning experiences.
• Incorporate AI tools and analytics to monitor learner progress and optimise content.
• Ensure all training aligns with industry regulations and internal compliance standards.

Required profile

• 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience (NQM, FHA, VA, conventional).
• 2+ years of experience in corporate learning, instructional design or training delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, education or a related field (preferred).
• Relevant instructional design certifications (e.g., CPTD, ATD) are a plus.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with instructional design frameworks such as ADDIE, ROPES and Bloom’s Taxonomy.
• Hands‑on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e‑learning authoring tools like Articulate and Captivate.
• Knowledge of underwriting software systems and compliance platforms.
• Ability to integrate AI tools and analytics into training programs.
