Mortgage Production Assistant

About the role

SoFi Mortgage is looking for a proactive Mortgage Production Assistant to support loan officers throughout the loan origination process. The role involves gathering borrower information, preparing loan files, and ensuring a smooth experience for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Pull and analyze customer credit reports, review income and asset documents, and structure loans.
• Run Desktop Underwriter (DU), stack and submit files, request and clear underwriting conditions.
• Serve as primary contact between clients, loan originators, borrowers, and realtors.
• Take application information over the phone and schedule appointments.
• Track and verify requested documents in Encompass and/or Salesforce within 24 hours.
• Update Encompass with verified information and resolve any file or document issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, state and federal guidelines, and attend team meetings.

Required profile

• Two years of professional office experience.
• At least one year of experience in the mortgage or banking industry.
• Active NMLS license as required by the SAFE Act.
• General knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA and VA guidelines.

Required skills

• Experience with Encompass LOS or other mortgage processing software.
• Proficiency in Google Docs.
• Familiarity with Salesforce (and optionally Blend).
