Molding Technician – 2nd shift

About the role

OTTO Engineering is seeking a senior Molding Technician for the second shift. This position oversees the full injection‑molding process, including setup, troubleshooting, training, equipment maintenance, and workflow optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Set up molding machines according to production schedules and confirm proper material use per BOMs.
• Perform quarterly material inventory and assist in scrap reduction.
• Execute advanced tool changeovers and run sample parts to formulate processes.
• Maintain departmental routers and troubleshoot complex processing problems.
• Train new employees, optimize existing processes, and demonstrate leadership.
• Perform all tasks of Molding Machine Operator and Trainee as needed and assist with other related duties.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of injection‑molding experience.
• Experience with tool changeovers.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and differentiate between colors.
• Reliable attendance and availability for non‑standard or extended schedules.
• Good communication and moderate computer skills.
• Knowledge of inspection tools and their use.
