Mobile Engineer

About the role

Allara is looking for a Mobile Engineer to create and enhance native iOS and Android applications that connect more than 60,000 women to longitudinal hormonal, metabolic, and reproductive health care. The role offers high ownership, allowing you to shape patient‑facing features from concept through launch while collaborating closely with product, design, and backend teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship new features for both iOS and Android apps within a shared mobile architecture.
• Lead the architectural direction for shared logic, state management, networking, and offline behavior.
• Partner with product, design, and backend engineers to translate care‑journey goals into performant mobile experiences.
• Maintain mobile quality through code reviews, testing, performance profiling, and pragmatic technical decisions.
• Integrate AI and LLM‑powered capabilities to improve patient engagement.
• Own feature lifecycles end‑to‑end, including scoping, launch, instrumentation, and data‑driven iteration.
• Collaborate with clinical and operations stakeholders to ensure the app aligns with the broader care journey.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional mobile engineering experience delivering production features.
• Deep expertise in either Swift/SwiftUI (iOS) or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (Android) with strong understanding of platform conventions.
• Willingness to contribute to the non‑primary platform and grow cross‑platform skills.
• Proficiency consuming RESTful APIs and working with backend teams on contract design, error handling, and authentication.
