Mobile Automotive Technician - Budget Truck (Full-Time)

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring immediately for a full-time Mobile Automotive Technician supporting Budget Truck operations. The technician works on a diverse fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks across multiple brands, performing repairs with minimal technical supervision and travelling to vehicles to resolve issues quickly. The role is based on-site and cannot be done remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on cargo vans and box trucks, including preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics and warranty-related repairs.
• Travel to the location of a truck or van to diagnose and fix problems, getting the customer back on the road as quickly as possible.
• Drive Budget Trucks on public roads as part of repair or transport needs.
• Work on newer vehicles across multiple manufacturers, applying diesel and medium-duty expertise to reduce downtime.

Required profile

• Valid driver's license; Class A, B or C CDL may be required depending on location.
• At least 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment.
• Ability to obtain DOT medical clearance.
• Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Previous OEM experience is preferred.

Required skills

• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 more within the first year.
• Working knowledge of ASE areas such as engine repair, drivetrain/axles, brakes, electrical, heating/air conditioning and light vehicle/diesel.
• Complete set of tools for automotive and diesel repair.
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors and in a noisy shop.
