Mobile Application Developer (Hybrid, Ashburn, VA)

About the role

MANTECH is seeking a motivated Mobile Application Developer to join its Ashburn, VA team. This hybrid role (2‑3 days onsite per week) focuses on building secure, high‑performance mobile solutions that support U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and deploy native or cross‑platform mobile applications (iOS/Android) for CBP field operations.
• Develop mobile tools that assist agents in alien processing, border security data management, and interdiction of illegal immigration.
• Ensure applications meet DHS and federal cybersecurity standards, including encryption, secure authentication, and FISMA compliance.
• Integrate mobile apps with backend enterprise systems, databases, and real‑time data feeds.
• Create intuitive UI/UX optimized for field conditions and varying connectivity.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and deliver updates to maintain continuous availability.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with an active Top‑Secret clearance and ability to obtain DHS CBP suitability.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (BS with 7+ years, MS with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of experience).
• Hands‑on experience developing mobile applications for high‑stakes operational environments.
• Preferred experience with federal law‑enforcement or defense agencies, MDM solutions, and offline‑first architectures.
