About the role

As a Mission Software Engineer at HavocAI, you will develop, deploy, and own software that powers autonomous systems used in national security and maritime operations. Working directly with customers in the field, you will ensure that our solutions perform reliably in real‑world, contested environments.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of software solutions delivered to customers, guaranteeing mission‑critical performance.
• Enhance HavocAI products to meet specific operational needs and scale capabilities across platforms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, build, test, and integrate complex functionality.
• Create and use performance metrics for debugging, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Identify root causes of system issues, propose fixes, and coordinate remediation steps.
• Work closely with end‑users to translate requirements into feasible features while balancing technical constraints.

Required profile

• Strong engineering background (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related).
• 3+ years of professional experience developing software in a Linux environment.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for required security clearances.
• Ability to quickly understand complex codebases and system architectures.
• Passion for mission‑critical software with tangible real‑world impact.
