Mission Operations Engineer – Product

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mission Operations Engineer to lead the deployment, validation, and continuous improvement of autonomous surface vessels. You will work within the Test & Evaluation team, focusing on structured field testing and data‑driven product enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of vehicle hardware and software architecture and its integrated operation.
• Plan and execute structured field tests for autonomous navigation, perception, communications, and sensor integration.
• Troubleshoot autonomy, networking, and onboard hardware/software issues in real time during test events.
• Own data‑logging and telemetry monitoring systems, ensuring data integrity for post‑test analysis.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and issue triage, reporting findings to review boards.
• Maintain autonomous vessels and test environments, using telemetry tools and onboard diagnostics.
• Ensure testing complies with DoD performance, safety, and compliance standards where applicable.
• Collaborate with autonomy, software, hardware, and systems teams to translate product requirements into validated test objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of hands‑on engineering experience in hardware/software integration, testing, or related domains.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Autonomous navigation and sensor integration.

• Root cause analysis (RCCA) and issue triage.
