Migration Policy Data Coder (Temporary)

About the role
The Migration Policy Data Coder will update an existing dataset by coding recent immigration‑openness and immigrant‑rights policy changes across developed democracies. This is a grant‑funded, fixed‑term position within the Department of International Affairs at Texas A&M University, located in College Station, Texas.
Key responsibilities
- Read and analyse source documents identified for policy changes.
- Code the identified changes and enter them into the existing migration policy dataset.
- Maintain data quality and consistency throughout the coding process.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: PhD in Political Science.
- Familiarity with OECD series on International Migration, Migration Outlook, and Social Expenditure.
- Access to a laptop or desktop with online and library resources.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Stata.
- Advanced Excel skills.
