Midnight Industrial Maintenance Technician

About the role

Adient is seeking a skilled Midnight Technician to maintain and repair machinery, support emergency response and keep production running smoothly during the midnight shift. The position is based in Romulus, Michigan, with the majority of work in a production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on machinery using lathes, drill presses, metal cutting saws, grinders and welding equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to guide repair work.
• Obtain and maintain a lift truck license.
• Join the plant emergency response team and complete required training, including Hazwoper.
• Follow work orders accurately and use the maintenance department computer systems.
• Work overtime as scheduled, including twelve-hour shifts and weekends.
• Meet physical requirements, including lifting, climbing, balancing and passing safety and physical tests.

Required profile

• Journeyman status in maintenance or equivalent experience in machine repair, millwright or electrical fields.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Willingness and ability to complete required training and certifications, including Hazwoper and lift truck licensing.

Required skills

• Use of metalworking tools and demonstration of welding skills.
• Blueprint reading and schematic interpretation.

Schedule: midnight shift (11pm - 7am), with possible day shift training (7am - 3pm) before transitioning. Working conditions involve occasional exposure to fumes and moderate noise.
