About the role

Prep Academy Tutors of New Orleans is seeking an experienced and engaging Math Tutor to provide one‑on‑one instruction for middle and high school students in Mandeville. The role involves creating customized lesson plans, improving students’ problem‑solving abilities, and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one tutoring in middle and high school math subjects, including pre‑algebra, algebra, geometry, and advanced topics as needed.
• Develop customized lesson plans based on each student’s learning style and academic needs.
• Help students improve problem‑solving skills, study habits, and test preparation strategies.
• Track student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and the Prep Academy Tutors team.
• Foster a positive, motivating, and supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of middle and high school math curriculum.
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to students’ homes in the Mandeville area.
• One of the following: current valid registration with the Louisiana Department of Education, qualified U.S. teacher (or in process), teacher candidate pursuing a Bachelor of Education, or experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. or Canadian university.
