Mid-Level IT Systems Administrator (US Navy Projects)

About the role

We are seeking a Mid-Level IT Systems Administrator to support mission‑critical infrastructure for U.S. Navy projects. You will maintain and improve a complex environment that spans on‑premises, virtual, and cloud platforms while ensuring high availability and security.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and patch Windows Server, Exchange, and Linux systems in both physical and VMware environments.
• Manage Active Directory objects, group policies, and user access controls.
• Configure and monitor storage solutions including iSCSI, SAN, and NAS.
• Support AWS services and assist in cloud migration initiatives.
• Implement and troubleshoot networking components such as Cisco switches, firewalls, and F5 Big‑IP devices.
• Provide performance monitoring, capacity planning, and incident response for mission‑critical services.
• Collaborate with clients to identify improvement opportunities and document system changes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience managing Microsoft Windows Server in an enterprise setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Active Top Secret clearance (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT‑2 certification within 30 days of hire.

• VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon (VDI).
• Windows Server, Windows 10, and Active Directory.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Cisco networking (switches, firewalls) and network encryption (e.g., TACLANE).
• F5 networking software (Big‑IP).
• Storage protocols: iSCSI, SAN, NAS.
• Linux administration (Red Hat) and Apache web server.
• Vulnerability assessment tools such as Tenable Nessus and ACAS.
