Microbiology Faculty – Teaching & Lab Position

About the role

The Department of Math and Natural Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks a dedicated Microbiology faculty member to join its tenure‑track faculty. The role combines laboratory instruction, lecture teaching, and research support in a vibrant, undergraduate‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare media, culture specimens, and set up microbiology laboratory sessions.
• Teach hands‑on microbiology labs and deliver lecture courses.
• Operate autoclave equipment and ensure laboratory sanitation after each session.
• Develop lecture materials, assignments, and examinations.
• Grade student work and provide academic mentorship.

Required profile

• PhD in Microbiology or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach Immunology is preferred.
• Prior teaching experience may qualify for Associate Professor rank.

Required skills

• Microbiology laboratory techniques.
• Autoclave operation and laboratory safety procedures.
• Lecture preparation and curriculum development.
