Microbiologist (Faculty Position)

About the role

The Department of Math and Natural Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks a tenure‑track Microbiologist to lead laboratory instruction and support research activities. The position combines teaching of microbiology courses with hands‑on lab management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare media, culture specimens, and set up microbiology laboratory sessions.
• Teach microbiology laboratory classes and lecture courses.
• Operate autoclave equipment and ensure proper sanitation of lab spaces after each session.
• Develop lecture materials, assignments, and examinations.
• Grade student work and provide academic feedback.

Required profile

• PhD in Microbiology or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach Immunology is preferred.
• Teaching experience may qualify the candidate for an Associate Professor rank.
