Micro Lab Tech

About the role

Certified Group is seeking a Microbiology Technician to prepare samples for analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmental samples. The role involves applying approved microbiological techniques and ensuring quality and safety in the laboratory.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries.
• Apply aseptic techniques throughout daily workload.
• Maintain media and reagents needed for microbiological testing.
• Inventory and report expendable supplies and materials.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, sanitizing, and waste disposal.
• Conduct quality control monitoring, including incubator temperature checks and control organism inoculation.
• Follow FSNS policies, procedures, and customer requirements independently.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure a safe, hygienic work environment.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in Life Science or two years of laboratory experience (preferred).
• Broad knowledge of food testing laboratory concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to travel (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
