Join a dynamic team in Austin where you will help ensure supplier material meets strict dimensional specifications and drive continuous improvement in metrology processes.
Key responsibilities
- Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to validate incoming supplier material against part print specifications.
- Design, implement and document inspection, testing and evaluation methods that reduce measurement error.
- Develop project methodologies, proposals and qualification packs, and track qualification status.
- Analyze operational data, recommend corrective actions and implement process improvements.
- Participate in, and occasionally lead, internal and supplier audits.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications and industry standards to adapt inspection devices and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to share metrology best practices and reduce qualification cycle time and cost.
Required profile
- Detailed knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing for dimensional metrology inspections.
- Experience with hand tools for metrology such as surface plates, pin gauges, calipers and micrometers.
- Advanced proficiency in Zeiss CMM Calypso programming and familiarity with Zeiss O‑Inspect.
- Ability to lead small projects, solve complex problems and influence cross‑functional teams.
- Willingness to work the 2nd or 3rd shift and travel up to 20% of the time.
