Metallurgical Engineer – Lead Investigations & Quality

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Metallurgical Engineer to join our Quality team. In this pivotal position you will lead investigations, develop process controls, and ensure material integrity across production, procurement, and engineering functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead metallurgical investigations for production issues, qualification failures, field returns, and aircraft accident investigations.
• Perform comprehensive testing including fractography, microstructure evaluation, chemical analysis, and mechanical testing such as tensile, Charpy impact, and fatigue.
• Own special processes, develop and optimize heat‑treatment cycles, and support surface‑coating operations.
• Develop and maintain NDT and welding qualifications and procedures to meet industry and safety standards.
• Lead design and process risk assessments, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2‑3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with several years in a metallurgical role.
• NDT Level III certification preferred.
• Proven ability to work with metallurgical testing equipment and failure‑analysis software.
